If I get scammed, can the US government do anything?

Hello. I was not scammed yet, but I'm curious, just in case. Is my government able to do something to protect me, or not?

It depends on who scammed

It depends on who scammed you? If you were scammed by some site, like charmdate - unlikely, low probability of success, as this site is just a platform. Real frauds are hidden behind even back-end.
